Summer Party Picnic

We finally got a bit of sunshine!

On 6 July, Pensford Field had it’s annual summer picnic.  We had two amazing bands - The Motleys and UKewLele and many of our doughty friends turned up to support us notwithstanding the weather. It cheered up later in the afternoon before bucketing down just after we had dismantled the gazebos. So not a total washout!

We haven’t done a final tally yet but we raised over £700 from tickets, donations and the Pimms tent - this included a £400 donation from Antony Roberts. I am sure we would have had a better turnout had the weather been better and the quarter finals had been on a different day!

We had a strong presence from Kew Gardens Rotary who had a great surprise for us up their sleeves! A cheque for £500 was presented by Paul Raven-Hill to Sarah Atkins, Chair of Pensford Field Trustees to fund tree planting. We have to replace our lovely ash trees suffering from ash die-back over the next few years and this combined with other donations will help preserve this field for future generations.

We have some lovely photos of the event taken by Brian Secrett.
