Green Flag Community Award 2024
This award is the international quality mark for parks and green spaces
The news that Pensford Field has maintained the Green Flag Community Award in 2024 is testament to the hard work and dedication of our volunteers that make the green space a great space that everyone can enjoy. Pensford Field is a vital green space for the community and schools/nurseries in Richmond and Kew.
We were particularly pleased by the following comment form our judge:
““A lovely site where community have worked exceptionally hard to make use of whatever the site has and what they can secure so it is a safe and welcoming space for local people, and that it punches above its weight in how it is looked after and used for positive purposes.”
The Green Flag Award scheme, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under licence from the Minister of Housing, Communities & Local Government, recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of green spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.
Any green space that is freely accessible to the public is eligible to enter for a Green Flag Award. Awards are given on an annual basis and winners must apply each year to renew their Green Flag Award status. A Green Flag Community Award recognises quality sites managed by voluntary and community groups.
