Mini-Beasts’ Hunt

Local families gathered in the morning of the 10 August and set off to search out the resident invertebrates (or Mini Beasts) of our Field. With meadow sweeping nets, inspection pots and identification sheets in hand they carefully navigated the meadow and woods to see what they could find - interesting specimens were found by all!

A Scavenger Hunt then yielded lots of interesting finds to create a piece of a nature art to take home after enjoying  a 'bug' story time.

Many thanks to Paddy Hayes, the Education and Outdoor Learning Officer at Barnes Common for his support and the loan of the equipment.
